Default Winter tires on MY05 S2000

Hi,

Just wanted to know if you have any recommandation for winter tires (to be mounted on the stock 17" MYO5 wheels).

Do you use the same size as the summer tires (front : 215/45, rear : 245/40), or is it possible to put smaller tires without changing the geometry ?

Thanks for your precious advices.

You would want to run the OE tire size for the winter tires.

I went with 16" Dunlops with rims from Jim on my 07. I've seen V rated 17" Hankooks at Discount Tire, but they are not available everywhere.

I don't know if Jim ships to Lausanne, but look here for a picture of the 16's on my S.

215/45 + 245/40
or
225/45 + 255/40

should be fine.
any major winter tire manufacturer is okay (bridgestone blizzaks, dunlop wintersports, etc)

I'm going to run 205/50 and 225/45 Yokohama AVS Winter, but on aftermarket wheels, whose offsets prevent me from running much wider. There is a conventional thinking to run slightly narrower tires in the winter, as this improves snow traction.

I finally will mount Bridgestone Blizzack LM22 and LM25. It's apparently a good rated tire..

Cheers
