All in good fun, but honestly, when it comes to style mods, everyone really needs to do what they like, I've run bright blue wheels for a few years simply because I like them, if I would have taken a poll on them beforehand I probably would not have gotten a good reply. Style is a very personal choice.

If you ever see pictures of the Dragon event or S2k Days (S2kca.com), you will notice an ocean of grey hair among the attendees, there are plenty of 60+ s2000 owners in our parts.

Ive seen those wheels on an old Datsun 240z and as far as Japanese cars it sort of works, becuase that body shape was inspired by the old 60's Jags, not to mention the 240 is 45 years old at this point. But the modern aggressive wedge shaped styling of the s2k it simply doesn't resonate. It looks like oil and water, a total after thought. If you love those wheels so much that you would be willing to put them on a modern Car, maybe a more suitable classic British car would be a better fit as well? Just my opinion.

I kind of like that, but I'm old school. I have seen something similar on MG TDs and replicas.

I like wire wheels, but they have to be the right kind and on the right vehicle. The S2000 just isn't one of those vehicles.

Just to Hi-Jack my own post, if I move to 2004 style OE wheels will I need to change my coilovers to match or am I destined for a harder ride?
Thanks for your comments

You definitely will not need to change coilovers. Less sidewall will be a bit less compliant compared to ap1 wheels/tires but not very noticeable, you will be fine.

Agreed... I wonder how they'd look on a Berlina Black S?

I wasn't going to post in here but WTH.
Life is to short, do what you want with your S. I'm also 60(and feel it too sometimes) but my wife and I took a 7800 mile vacation in our '06 S back in '13 and I might feel a little stiff when I get out after a long day on the road but our S is our car to drive when we don't have snow to mess with. We run taller tires than stock to soften the ride a little and that helps on the back roads we like to take.

As for your wheels, if you got the money you can get wheels made to fit the S. I would first take it down to a wheel shop and just put some wire wheels(with tires) in the wheel well to see what the S would look like and see if you like it. If you do then just go for it.

I've seen some S2000's that only had maybe 2" to 2 1/2" of rubber on the road per wheel because of the crazy camber that they run, thats doesn't do anything for me but its their car and they make the car the way they like it. I can look at those S's and know it took a lot of money and work to make it sit that way. Like I said, lifes to short.
