Work VS-XX Disk Options & Offset Question 225 255
I am going to order a set of the Work VS-XX wheels. First off, I have the Eibach Pro Kit 1" Lowering springs. I'm going with 17X7.5 & 17X9 with 225 front 255 rear. That will give me .5 wider wheels from stock both front & rear.
My question is, on the work PDF specs there are 3 Disk options: Standard, Deep Rim, & Big Caliper. What do these mean? I'm assuming they are refering to the lip depth in MM. If so how do they get a wider lip with higher offsets in the Deep Lip option?
If I am reading the chart right the Deep Lip has a 25mm lip with a +51 offset and the Standard has the same 25mm lip with a lower +41mm offset.
2nd question is if I'm right about the Disk option (and choose the Deep Rim Wheel) can I run a 225 & 255 with 17X7.5 +51 & 17X9 +57 without rubbing? BTW I do not want to roll the fenders or any other mods.
Thanks in advance,
Ed

Well here is what I can come up with from what I've read..
I believe the Big Caliper set up would be for someone who is running an aftermarket big brake kit that needs a higher offset that will clear the calipers. The deep rim would be for someone who can run a lower offset which can also afford them a bigger lip. The offset is what determines how far the wheel sits out from the wheel hub, so even if you have the same lip sizes, you want an offset that will sit flush with your fenders, and not stick out too far OR sit in too much (the ugly recessed look.) Since you're dropped you MIGHT have to roll your rear fenders if you want to run a lower offset...dont quote me on this, this is just IMO.

I understand what offsets are and how they work. I am trying to figure out how a rim with the same offset can have a larger mm rim depth (when they refer to rim depth is that lip depth?) . Look at this link and you will see what I'm talking about.

The second question is can I get away with 225 & 255 +51 & +57 without rubbing?

Wondering if the way they get a larger rim depth with the same offset is if the spokes are bent in different angles for the different rim depth options. The deep rim option would have the spokes bent in towards the inside of the fender well to gain additional lip depth while maintaining the same offset. The standard would be straight and the BBK option would bend out toward the fender to clear BBK's and thats why the rim depth is smaller with the same offsets as the other options.
Am I way off or is my thinking in the right direction?

OK thats what I was thinking, thank you for the info Dressed2kill.
So, can I get away with running the offsets I asked about above (deep dish disk) without modification or rubbing?
Thanks,
Ed

Yes, you can get away with it. Think about this... I am running 18 x 9 +40 in the front and only need to roll the front fenders and use neg. camber. your running 7.5 which is a whole 1.5 inches narrower than my width and will leave you about 30 mm more in offset to play with than me and be at the same point I am. on the Rears I am running 18 x 10 +37 lots of neg camber and rolled rears... your offsets are just fine and you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks bullit5897 that visual was very helpful it really help confirm my thinking. Thanks for the help. Also what size tires are you running on your setup?
Next question is can I run the deep dish option and clear the stock brakes or slightly upgraded brakes (nothing huge like brembos or anything)?
Also anyone running something similar to 225 & 255 +51 & +57 without modifications?
I know most people recommend +50 & +63 but the FAQ's says you can run 225/255 with a minimum +53 front & +50 rear which is 13mm further out in the rear than people recommend, why?
Thanks guys
