Default Would 225/50/17 fit in the front?

I'm in need of front tires as the front ones are balding on the inside. I have an 07 s2000 and have 215/45/17 in the front. I was wondering would 225/50/17 fit in the front without a problem? I think it would provide more traction and a smoother ride. Also, if I did do this what would I do when I need to change the back?

you would want to run a 215/45-17=8.46in wide 3.81 sidewall
225/50-17 8.86in wide and 4.43in side wall.. that would make u handle worse because ur side wall would be higher.. u would wanna run somehting liek a 225/45r17 which would give you 8.86in wide and a 3.99in side wall...you would get a wider tire patch and barely any side wall flex from what you have now..

Thanks, makes sense. What should I do in the back? I have 245/40/17 right now.

My tires are bridgestone potenza r050, are those good? or what can you recommend?

Check out the RE-11 instead of the RE050.

dosent decreasing the slight slight stretch that oem tire/wheel size offers make your handling worse in the front? Because from what I understand the way the oem tire/wheel setup is made, the sidewall is at its best angle for stiffness and traction for the road and going any bigger would cause a slight bubble effect and at the same time heighten the sidewall therefore decreasing the sidewall stiffness. If thats the case then if you want to either keep 215's and just get a better tire or get wider wheels and run 225's or even 235's in the front if you want to do it right.
The rear is a different story, its not as important to have an angle on the tire so 255's in the back should be fine.
