Default WRD D5 custom 3 piece wheels 17x10.5 18x12.5... NOW FITTED ON CAR

Hi guys.
Just wanted to share with you something that I'm currently working on...
I bought these wheels about 6 months ago, measuring in at 17x7+32 and 17x8+36.
My intention was to always build them up for the s2k, so the time came around where we started taking down measurements, for maximum inner clearance.

I wanted to run a meaty tire so decisions were made that the rear would measure in at 18x12.5 with a slant lip, meanwhile at the front was a 17x10.5..
I'm no big fan of over the top camber, so the barrel on the rear measures in at 9inches...
Craig at white horse done an awesome job of the lips and barrels, strongly recommend.

Here are some photos to show the stage I'm up to, 80 holes per wheel to drill out..

PS I'm from Australia..

You can put anything on the car you like and say it fits, but can you drive it is the question. Your running some kind of over fenders/wide body I assume? If not, good luck. There is exactly 12.5" max of rear fender clearance with a stock cut/rolled rear fender. Which means to account for wheel movement and alignment under suspension travel, 11.5"/295 is the maximum you can go. The front at 10.5 is maybe possible if you roll your fenders flat and run a somewhat conservative alignment -2 at about +50 offset. You will still be lucky to fit a 265 tire though which would be the min proper width for that rim. On a 12.5" rim a tire less then 315 wont look "meaty" at all, it will be stretched.

Just some words of advice from the experienced.

I am not a fan of the 17 front and 18 rear look but as junky said you may have some issues with those sizes no matter what the offset. I would like to see them on the car bu I have a feeling you will have some issues to deal with before that happens. Any idea of the weight of the wheels? Since they are "old school" I an guessing they aren't the lightest things in the world. Anyways post pics when you get them mounted.

Each to their own I guess.
The rear will be running at least a 285 minimum..
Remember that the rear offset measures in around the +70 mark ....

The problem is you physically can’t get a 12.5" rim to fit in the opening without rubbing the inner and out fender well and shock tower brace, tire size means nothing until you consider and resolve that issue. I assume you actually got under the car and measured the opening before starting the project? Even if you had just enough to slip the rim inside with it completely squared(no camber, which isnt possible) You still have to consider the added room/leeway to the inside as the wheel compresses under suspension travel as I previously mentioned( the wheel goes negative camber as it compresses) That aside, a 285 is extremely stretched on a 12.5" so your meaty tire comment is sort of misleading. You should say hellaflush. Put a 315-335 on there and you would have something.

Lol to each their own? The measurements are what the are there isn't a lot of interpretation when you are talking about measurements of something. But like I said lets see pics when you put them on the car.

I'll let the pictures do the talking..
One does not simply spend so much on lips and barrels to find out they don't fit..

not that I dont love a huge tire, but an s2k really doesnt need a 285 if your car is in stock form. if you run a mildly sticky tire i bet your car will feel like a tank moving around that much rubber.

also you can spend all the money you want on lips. it wont change the amount of clearance in the fenders. I hope youre running overfenders or 20k springs all around lol
