Post yokohama as430

hey im new to this forum as i just recently got an 02 s2000 a few weeks ago, the car came with some fusion zr1's the fronts are like brand new but the rears are worn out, i went to honda and this guy recomended the yokohama as430's he told me that he's been recomending them to s2000 owners and that the tire did really well and was acutaly stable in the rain has any one tried these the price is right @ $509 mounted and ballanced out the door and they have a 60,000 mile waranty, my car is a daily driver and I do plan on some hard cornering every once and a while, i've also looked at the falken rt615's, i am stll running factory 16's, thanks in advance for your comments

Those Yokohama AS430 are NOT okay to use- they are all season. The ratings on those is just a V, and you need a Z, W, or Y. It is a decent tire, but not compatible with our cars. Those are not performance tires, and you now have a performance vehicle. It is a consensus that sales people know nothing of our cars or what we really need. Never listen to them. Familiarize yourself with speed ratings, and make sure you know about the fact that your wheels and tires are staggered.

If you need something inexpensive, but decent, try Kumho Ecsta Supras or Yokohama AVS ES100. Keep in mind that you will need to get 245-45-16 for your rears if you are not getting Bridgestone Potenza S03s. But the most important thing is the speed rating. Maybe go try a Firestone Place and see if they can hook you up with some Fuzion for the rear. Just make sure the speed rating is Z (W or Y).

You want to get two new Fuzion ZRi in size 245/45-16 for your rear to match your still good front tires. You should be able to get two rear installed for less than $250.

Avon Tech M500's pretty good IMO for the price. Since non OEM, get 245/45/16 in the rear.

You would be better off matchingthe front tires and getting the Fuzion in the 245/45R16. I have the tires in stock and the delivered price would be 178.00. The Fuzion has gotten good feedback from the S2K owners in Florida for the wet traction. They are a better wearing tire than stock but nothing is going to last a long time on the rear of the car.
Give me a call if I can help.
