You can run either the 225/50R16 front of 205/55R16 front. The 205/55R16 looks a little better but the 225/50R16 will handle better.
Also, after tires I'm getting coilovers to lower ~1.25 inches. Would the wider tire be more likely to rub with this mild of a drop?
