255/40r17 all around ?
Just got my downforce front fenders and was wondering what would need done to the rear fenders in order to fit a 17x9 +38 running a 255/40r17 or would there be a better setup ? Thanks ahead for any advice.

In your case, running a 255 wide tire is pretty irrelevant as you're running such a low offset wheel. A +63 fits pretty much the same as stock. A +38 pushes the wheel out 25mm, which is basically 1". I think the wheel itself will be past the fender. In short, your fender will probably require a lot of work along with a lot of negative camber.

yes, but what about as far as rim size? I haven't bought wheels yet, so I'm just trying to figure out a setup that will work for sure when I do put a new suspension under it and also fill out the downforce fenders.

The Downforce fenders will fit that 17x9 + 38 just fine (are we talking about RPF1's here? Because they have a 17x9 +35 and a 17x9.5 +38 but not the size you post). There are a bunch of people running 17x9.5 +38 with a 255 in the back; you'll need to roll the inside of the fender flat, relocated the bumper tab and trim your bumper to have it fit and you'll want to run at least -3 camber. This is all if you're lowered, if you're at stock height it'd be a bit easier.

I haven't decided on a wheel yet, just trying to decide what specs to look for. I want something that's somewhat flush and would like to run a non staggered setup, I'm willing to roll the rear, I just want to make sure the front doesn't look sunk in with the downforce fenders, I went ahead and got the fenders because someone had done me the favor of running into my drivers front fender overnight and I figured I might as well get wider ones.
