HELP! How much to torque lugnuts?
Sorry for the foolish question, but I am about to mount a set of Work Meister S2R 18's to replace the stock 16" OEM wheels/ tires on a MY02, but I cannot find the torque setting (in lb/ ft.) for tightening the lugnuts in the Owner's Manual.
Is it the same amount of torque using the (new) Work lugnuts as the OEM Honda lugnuts, and if not, can somebody please point me in the right direction for finding out? The wheels look very nice on my garage floor, but I think they'd be EVEN BETTER on the car!
Thanks!
HMB

I believe the service manual spec is 80 lbs or thereabouts. XViper mentioned in another thread that he witnessed some lug nuts coming loose under track conditions at 80 lbs, so he torques his to 90.
Lately I've been doing the same. I tried 80 lbs a couple times, and it just didn't seem tight enough. It's hard to explain. Also, when I removed my stock wheels for the first time, it was evident that they were torqued way beyond 80 lbs from the factory.
