Chicago Sightseeing
Ill be visiting Chicago for a few days with my girlfriend, and wanted to get some input from some of you who are from the area on what I should see or do while I'm there. Ive only actually been to Chicago once, and that was for the auto show, so I'm really open to any suggestions that you guys may have. Chicago is a big city, what is there to do there?
Also, any recommendations on where I should stay? I want to stay in the city if possible, but I don't want to spend an arm an a leg.
Just thought I would try and get some 'insider' info while Im doing my research as well.
Thanks!

It depends on what you like to do. Any particular reason you are visitng Chicago? That might help.
In general, people like to visit the Sears Tower and the John Hancock buildings. Navy Pier is pretty cool. The museums are bunched to gether, which makes it pretty easy to get to them: Museum of Science and Industry (WAY cool.) Field Museum, Adler Planetraium, Art Institute and the Shedd Aquarium are all right there.

Im planning on seeing the aquarium, Field Museum, Art Institute, Science/Industry museum, Navy Pier, grant park, etc. Any other lesser known things that I wouldn't know about that you all would recommend we see?
I was also thinking about taking one of the harbor cruises, any companyn particular you would recommend guys would recommmend? I was thinking about Windy.
Ill definately be hitting up Gino's for a deep dish, where else can I grab a good meal?
Thanks again for the help!

I would hit up Milenium Park instead of Grant Park.
I can't remember the name, but there is a boat tour company that uses what looks like giant speed boats. I haven't been on one, but it seems like a cool idea, in that it goes faster than the rest.
I like going fast. There are 6-7 boat tours that depart from Navy Pier. I would suggest finding one that tours the lake AND the river (they will know what that means, and you will learn soon enough if you take the tour.)
Gino's is great! Heaven On Seven is my favorite restraunt. It's Cajun, try the gumbo.
