Default Drama queens - Please read.

I updated the Posting Guidelines. A couple of the items are things I said I'd clarify (i.e. Pete's 350Z thread) and hopefully I covered those. Most of it is in relation to the giant shitstorm I came home to tonight though.

I think it's pretty explanatory. Particularly about Urmil and I's moderation. If you guys really want the site moderators to handle it, that's fine by me. But there's at least 3 or 4 of you who will be on the already lengthy list of banned members if/when that change happens. I don't want that to happen, and I know Urmil doesn't either, even to those who seem to think there's some vendetta or conspiracy against them. As for all the finger pointing I got in my PM inbox today... might want to look at yourself a bit too.

It's too bloody late for me to be any more clear than that... I'll PM some of you in the next few days to discuss - and feel free to PM me if you want to bring something up.

Banned for voicing an opinion? From what I saw and read, it wasn't a one way street with the shit storm. It was flying in all directions. If someone is attacked I agree that they need to work it out within themselves. However, this seems to be a few vs. many. And when you put down one of the group then all that feel that way are gonna start getting defensive too. The sub-forum in some ways kicked started this IMO, i think was a double edged sword. I kinda like having it to post whatever and keeps things organized. But at the same time, it was taken as some what of a segregation. I really have no serious beef with anyone, and If i do I keep it off of here. Thats the way It should be but everyones been very bitter about a lot of things going on, and how you the CO's have handled certain things. I do commend urmil for trying to work it out via, PM's. However, if its a community issue it needs to be discussed with the community. I hope this bickering stops. But don't just blame the members/guests when I've seen it coming from others as well.

I also would like this forum to be monitored by a moderator and not by the CO's. If someone gets banned they get banned. But this will solve the superiority issue thats seems to be tagged along with your tags as CO's. Please stop moderating and let a moderator handle this. This is the only fair way solution I see. This way no fingers are pointed at you, or urmil.

I second that.

Why not just hold a nomination and election for a board moderator?

It doesn't work like that. You don't get a choice in who will moderate threads. Any of the admins or global mods ( found here ) could possibly moderate the forum.

It's not voicing of opinions (though that's been known to get people banned if they direct the opinion at the wrong person). It's posting things that are directly in violation of site rules. The battle thread, some of the pictures/movies, guests posting for sale items, etc etc. A few of the admins/moderators do not give people a lot of leeway to post what is to the poster (and most readers) a joke.

Regarding segregation - I haven't seen anybody who posts in WC not posting in UMW. How is it segregation?

I really don't know what the solution is. Maybe that's a sign that I'm not the right person to be CO of the UMW.

Jeff, I read through the posting guidlines, and I think it's pretty good.

Daman, I know where you are coming from, but I think Jeff is right. We don't want a Moderator that doesn't know any of us, or the group dynamics at ALL trying to Moderate this or the UMW forums.
