Scylla on N. Damen for creative yet solid seafood.
Sweets and Savories on Fullerton: Wednesdays for the $10 kobe (used to be + foie gras) burger
People's Lounge on Milawukee for bargain Tapa, ask when Marissa works. tell her to sell her condo and get out of the i-bought-a-condo-w/-my-ex-fiance club.
Yoshi's on Halsted for sunday brunch, ask for Junya (gay waiter) when you're there.
Hot Chocolate for amazing desserts. ever had a chocolate shake FLIGHT? yah, didn't think so.
Custom House (also for brunch) in S. Loop, killer prices, GREAT GREAT, did i say GREAT service?
:drumroll: and my current fave:
Mundial Cocina Metiza on 18th street in Pilsen say hello to "Yessenia" w/ the beautiful skirt. tell her Asian dude Tony w/ the big party (and the camera) sent you. great prices, synergetic kitchen w/ 1 white chic and 2 mexican sous chefs, BYOB! not as good as Fonda Del Mar, but you can NOT beat the neighborhood vibe.
Korean BBQ: San Soo Gab San, Hae Woon Dae, Garden (buffet), and the panty dropper: Solga (don't ask me why, golddiggin' korean chics dig it).
Thai: eat off any of the translated menus found here: http://www.silapaahaan.com
French: Bistro Campagne, Cafe Matou (on vacation til 9/7/06), La Sardine/Le Bouchon (on Tuesdays for the < $25 prix fixe menus) and unfortunately, i like the LEYE restaurant that serves french food (shall remain nameless.)
High End (i haven't been to ANY of these myself): Avec, Avenue, Alinea, Moto!! North Pond, Tru, and the only one i've had: Everest (gdamnit, another LEYE restaurant).
Pizza: don't bother, NY slice > * (opinions are like a**holes tho... so... eat at your own risk)
Chinese: again, don't bother.
all addresses can be found on: http://www.metromix.com
(o geezus that was long... time to go home and have left over bun bo hue)

Damn food
s!!! I feel like a noob....
Anyway, found a cast iron grill online and ordered. It's small and a tabletop kind, we'll have a try of how good it works in one of the few weekends left before hybernation.
