Default Formula 1 - 2011

First race of the season starts this weekend. Who's watching?

I'm still a McLaren/Button fan but my guess is Red Bull will be strong again this year. Hopefully it's Webber as I think Vettel has become a bit cocky. I can see Mercedes stepping up their game this year, and expect Ferrari to come strong as always. Heidfeld and Renault are longshots but hopefully they'll surprise us and it will be a 5 team battle.

I've got to stick with the Brits once again.

the guy that i'd like to see really make an impact this year is paul di resta...i like to root for the underdog.... I know that when "bob" was injured, I was hoping someone like Anthony Davidson would get another shot (although he is under contract with Puegot)...

My choice for 2011 is Webber.. but I don't thnk that will happen.... I'd like to see Nico get a win this year.... I am not a Maldonado or Petrov fan since I am not a believer of "pay for your seat" drivers.

Anyway, this should be a good season... last year was pretty good... hope more of the same this year.

I think Red Bull will be the team to beat again this year. I cannot imagine that Adrian Newey's design would slip much (if at all) from the dominance of last year's car, despite the ever changing F1 rules landscape.

I'm a big fan of Alonso, but I'd actually also like to see Schumacher do well just to silence the naysayers. Yeah, he drove like a prick back in the day and did anything to win, but they all do that. He just did it for 7 championship seasons.

As for Button, Rosberg, and the like... I think they're all great drivers, but they're missing an X-factor that I think Vettel, Hamilton, Raikkonen, Alonso, and Schumacher all have.

This version of the Mercedes will better suit his driving style according to the reporters. It will hurt Nico though so that kinda sucks.

di Resta seems like an odd choice. Don't know too much about him other than he came from DTM...and I don't know too much about DTM. From what I hear, Coulthard and Hakkinen only do okay there which leads me to believe it's an entirely different animal...or maybe it's that much more challenging (I doubt it). Don't think anyone driving a Force India will be championship contender for at least a few more years. They are showing quite a bit of promise for the middle-pack teams though.

lol. All those guys seem like cocky bastards Probably what it takes to win though. That "I'm the best so I'm entitled to be in front attitude" is what won all of them their championships, but I've also seen them crash quite a few races because of the same mentality. The new(er) points system makes wins that much more desirable and DNF's that much more detrimental.
