All I can say about this years race, is that Juan Montoya is showing his worth...

Lexus is holding the lead in the Daytona Prototype class as it has since the start.... Clear dominance over Porsche, Pontiac, and Ford.... With drivers such as JPM, Scott Pruett, Darrel Manning, its no wonder...

About 6am this morning Jeff Gordon got his first full taste of what its like to race in a downpoor on slicks... He was asked by the crew if he adjusted the brake bias.. His take: "I couldn't take my hands off the wheel... I dont know how the sportcar drivers do this.. I give them all the respect in the world.... Funny part about this statement is that Jimmy Johnson was running fast laps in the same weather...

Helio Castonoves, racing in a Pontiac, after his first stint.... "This is the most incredible ride Ive ever had on this track(Daytona).. I dont think I will be able to sleep before my next stint in the car..."

In GT... Well there is one statement to be made... If your not in a Porsche 911 GT3.. You might as well not even have shown up... The Pontiac GXP-R is clearly not in the same league... Nor is the RX-8.... TRG's Fleet of 5 GT3's show a clear advantage over everyone in the class....

All in all it's been a messy race this year due to the rain that came during the night....

Predictions: Target/Lexus takes the Daytona Prototype class.. TRG will take GT...

 

cept Pontiac took 2nd in GT class. the low-torque RX-8 is the suck on fast tracks but the mazdaspeed car actually took 7th in class, which isn't half bad.

my friend+2 had spotters passes this year. they stood on top of the race tower majority of the time. JPM was swarmed everywhere he went in his golf cart and DP cars STILL look like ass.

 

well he won it.... i still think he shoulda stayed.... but eh..
