lol

To be fair, Kimi has been aiming his red car at Bottas as much as the other way around has happened... must be some sort of Finns attract law of physics.

I have no problem with people driving into Kimi.

I think there's several candidates available. Some obvious and some dark horses:

Pascal: Obvious choice. I think he needs another season or two to show he has "it" to combat a top level teammate.

Bottas: I'm not sure Williams will let him go without a lot of zeros on the payment from Mercedes. They already have a young unproven rookie in one seat. They don't need/want one in the second seat with all the rule changes.

Jenson Button: He didn't want to drive a mid pack car next year. This one will be front running. He also can be a great teammate with Lewis for a year until Ocon or Pascal are ready. I'm sure the new brass and McLaren will let him go with a payment.

Carlos Sainz: Kid is talented. Would be a fun drive next to Lewis. I'm not sure how that relationship would go, but if they want to be done with Lewis in a year or two it would be good to steal this kid away from Red Bull.

Jean Eric Verne: I know this seems a long shot, but he's been destroying Formula E and really shouldn't have lost his F1 ride the way he did. He was always consistent at out racing his teammate. I'm sure his motivation would be 10/10 to beat Red Bull.

I agree that Pascal is the obvious choice.

I'd love to see Button get it, but I think he's done in F1 based on his demeanor and comments at the last race.

Pascal is the easy choice, but Lauda said they wanted someone experienced so I'm not certain he'll get it. Silly season could get very silly.

JEV would be a great choice, unfortunately that won't happen.

It's looking like Bottas will get it, but nothings set in stone yet.

Lauda sounds like he's well and truly annoyed by Nico retiring when he did and leaving Merc in the situation they're in. Considering Nico just re-signed with them in August I can understand his annoyance, plus Nico saying if he hadn't won he'd race next year.

Oh well, their mess to sort out now.

I'd be really surprised if they managed to get Alonso. It would also make Toto look like an ass since he said he didn't want to disrupt the other teams with signed/contracted drivers.
