SOOOOO AWESOME! I just got a new sleeping bag! Most of you (or all of you) just don't appreciate a good sleeping bag. Used my REI dividend on it so I got a good mid-range zero degree rated down bag (600 fill power) for only $40. Weighs in a 4 lbs, which is kinda hefty for todays standards, but TONS lighter than my 10-15 year old synthetic fill bag. And I can compress it a LOT smaller helping with space usage. (high-end 800-875 fill-power bags run upward of $700, temp ratings lower than -20, and weigh in at around 2.5 pounds!)

I'm also so freaking excited to try out my new belay device! Ordered it the other day along with a new locking carabiner. My old ATC was showing wear so I'm retiring it. I found a deal on my new one at Moosejaw Mountaineering. It was already $15 cheaper than REI retail, and I had this nifty 25% off any single item from Moosejaw, so I used it on that. Nearly got my brand new belay device for 50% off standard retail! And it's gotten a lot of really good remarks in magazine reviews.
