Someone cut the wiring connecting the ballast to the harness. Each wire online was over $70. I decided to do some research, bought the connectors from AliExpress and learned out to wire.

...like new. What I like about the S2000 is that it's an honest sports car. Finding cheap ways to maintain the car is always a plus. Very different from my experiences with Porsche.

Clutch fluid was BLACK. Thankfully, the slave wasn't leaking. Had to flush it a few times but it's now golden.

Another terrible idea is the rotor bolts! I had to drill out more of them because they were seized. The original Honda rotors were in good shape, pads were surprisingly thick. I ended up switching the rotors to painted Centrics due to rust.

When you buy a used car, you might find things as you dig deeper. The previous owner tapped the rear window defroster to power a rearview mirror (which fell off). I liked the idea of having auto-dimming and HomeLink so I kept it. Future plan to remove the rearview mirror button for a universal one (terrible design by Honda, never liked the mounting mechanism of the rearview mirror)

The leather pieces are pre-cut with little to no foam in mind so I had to stretch and pray. A heat gun helped a lot. Clips were essential. I ordered yellow stitching to match the exterior.

I bough some leather armrest covering from the Tuning Shop (Amazon and eBay). Came from England, supple leather. Figured I would cushion the arm rest so I can actually rest my arm on it. I used Super 77 adhesive spray and some foam from Joann's.

Unfortunately, the wheel finished developed some kind of haze. I'm not sure if it was the degreaser I used, didn't clean with anything super acidic. In the future, will just stick with soap and water. The ceramic coating did bring out the bronze a bit more.

Facebook is a blessing and a curse. Saw AP2 headlights WITH bulbs and ballasts for less than $700. Dirty and they had some crazing but good enough.

The build continued into the holidays. Amazing friend gifted me a matching keychain. Hood opens too and you can see the F-series engine.

Decided to get an AP2 center console. Was relatively cheaper compared to others but seller didn't mention it was filthy and had some broken tabs. Leather also was hard as rock.

Went to work under the hood. Fluid change, filter change, valve adjustment, new gaskets, new spark plugs. Low miles but since I'm in there might as well.

I drove halfway across the state to get these Volks CE28N. Saw them listed for an okay price, these were apparently fitted on a JDM S2000 that was imported. Pretty clean, minor wear. Original bronze. Sticker date codes are 2006 which would make them period correct for my S2000. Staggered setup that did not require fender rolling. What's more interesting is that the hub was bored out to S2000 sizing so I didn't need hubcentric rings. The center caps are probably aftermarket.

Most of the car and original everything. Tires looked to be original. I was relieved I survived the drive back on these Bridgestones.

Car had 26K miles. Not immaculate by any means. Driving about 1,000 miles per year for this car isn't great but I was happy to see another S2000 in the garage so I got to work.

Around the fall, I was browsing Facebook again and saw an ad for a 2001 Spa Yellow. It was listed really high, I think mid $30's. I passed on the ad but saw it still up a few weeks later. I ended up taking a look at it with low expectations. Met the original (!) owner and ended up negotiating a price that satisfied both of us. Brought it home and started the fun.

Found an ad on Facebook with a clean SSM listed for $15,000 but ended up being a scam. You got to be careful out there.

Found this 2007 RYP with around 43K miles. Was a good deal until I saw it in person. Apparently was owned by an old guy who bumped into a lot of things and it showed. Unfortunately I had to pass but driving it motivated me more.

I enjoyed my ND Miata for the time being. Closest to a modern S2000. Shift feel was good, lots of creature comforts. Small and light.
