Dual Purpose Build

It's a goal that many, many S2000 owners go after with their own individual builds - track capable, yet streetable and mostly OEM. And for good reason. Most of us use our Hondas as primary transportation, or just simply don't want to have to haul them to the track. And those reasons were the motivation behind Anualmix's excellent AP1 build that we watched come together right here in the forums

Pre-Modded

The OP fell in love with the S2000 way back in 1999 but didn't actually get his hands on one until 2014. At the time, it already sported a few minor mods - Kosei K1 TS 17" wheels, an AP1 lip, OEM trunk spoiler, Eibach springs, red NSX logos, and a SuperSprint exhaust.

Upgrade Me

The OP wasted no time hooking up with fellow enthusiasts at some local shows. Nor began making the car his own by adding a set of his dream wheels - bronze Volk CE28N pieces wrapped in Advan AD08R rubber. Soon after, he upgraded the handling of his car by installing a set of Tein Monoflex coilovers.

Minor Setback

Next up - a Mugen intake and some track time. It was there, unfortunately, that he suffered a little cosmetic damage after the rear end of the car got away from him. It also didn't take long for the Advan tires to wear out at speed, either.

Keep on Rolling

Still, the mods just kept coming. Soon, the OP had some OEM side strakes and a diffuser in hand. Next, some Spoon goodies including brake calipers and fresh rotors. And for the interior, a set of Recaro Pole Position seats and a Tegiwa seat rail and seat belt extender.

The Little Things

And the little stuff just kept pouring in. Small details like red NSX badges, black Volk lugs, and premium floor mats are nice touches that really add up to make a big difference.

More Power

In terms of performance, the OP made a few subtle but effective mods. They include a real-deal Mugen air intake, Supersprint exhaust, and the requisite Cusco oil catch can.

Living the Dream

Since its completion, the OP has done nothing but drive and enjoy his dream car. From the looks of his build thread, he rotates his time between attending every single car show local to him and hitting the track. And that, friends, is the very definition of dual-purpose!
