Solid Buy

In a world where everything is getting more and more expensive, blue chip collectibles like the Honda S2000 have only gotten more so. But there are still some good deals to be found, even if they aren't quite as common as they used to be. Case in point - this 2003 Honda S2000, which recently sold for a pretty reasonable sum - $22,500 - at Cars and Bids.

Deciding Factors

This Sebring Silver S2000 has a few things going for it that helped seal that sum, including the fact that it has low, but not crazy low miles on the clock - 62,200 - and it's equipped with a couple of aftermarket modifications including a timing chain tensioner and soft top, but nothing terribly crazy.

Exterior Flaws

Otherwise, this car has the typical flaws one might expect to find on a decades-old car, including scotches and chips in the paint, as well as a couple of minor dings. There are also a few imperfections on the wheels, and scuffs on the wheel arches.

Interior Imperfections

The same goes for the bright red cabin, which has typical bolster wear on the seats, a tear on the driver's side seat bottom, and some faded pieces. Nothing out of the ordinary, but also not the kind of things that collectors want to see.

Driver Grade

With that in mind, it's pretty obvious that none of these flaws really show up on camera, at least not to the point where they're alarming. Instead, this S2000 looks exceptionally clean in the photos, making it more of a driver-grade car - our  favorite kind.

Left Alone

The engine bay is equally clean, housing a stock powerplant that hasn't been modified or tinkered with in any way. This particular S2000 has an extensive service history as well, and there's nothing to note in terms of accident or damage history.

Reliable Fun

These are all the sorts of things that prospective buyers like to see in a car they can drive and enjoy, of course. And that's precisely the reason why we call this a reasonable deal - for less than the price of pretty much every new vehicle on the market, one can have a heck of a lot of reliable fun, for years to come.
