Throwback: Turbocharged S2000 Found on Craigslist

This turbocharged S2000 with 36,000 miles popped up on Craigslist last spring with an asking price of $25,000, which seems like a steal considering how far prices have risen since.

Turbo Power

Though many people are devotees of naturally-aspirated power, you can't blame folks for jumping on the forced-induction train. Turbos and superchargers are great ways to add a ton of power, after all. That includes cars like the Honda S2000, as this turbo'd example that popped up on Craigslist can certainly attest to.

Feeling Sleepy

On the surface, this particular car is a bit of a sleeper, at least as much as an S2000 can really be. On the outside, it looks pretty much stock save for that giant roll bar protruding from the interior. And the intercooler showing off through the front bumper. But these aren't things that the casual observer might even notice at first.

Impressive Numbers

Under the hood, it's a completely different story. The turbo isn't easy to miss, after all. The seller has also added a "conservative" tune and standalone ECU and claims that these upgrades are good enough to make 520 horsepower at the wheels. Whether or not that's accurate, well, we don't know. But if so, it is impressive.

Decent Shape

Otherwise, this is a pretty nice car. It has just 36,000 miles on the clock and looks to be in pretty solid shape. The exterior is clean and free of damage, and the interior seems quite tidy, too. There aren't really any awful mods or attempts at customization here, either.

No Hack Job

And that's a big deal in today's world. There are far too many hacked-up disasters out there as is. We don't need anybody doing too much to any S2000, because these cars are awesome without any added effort. But this car's mods are all easily reversible, so that's a bonus.

High Capability

Heck, this thing could even stand to be lowered an inch or so, in our opinion. Otherwise, it's the perfect car to cruise around in and catch people off-guard. But with plenty of power and little weight to push around, this S2000 is certainly capable of running with the big dogs. Even if it doesn't look like it.
