Unique Makeover

We've certainly seen our fair share of "new" S2000 renderings over the years, as Honda's beloved roadster has become everyone's favorite model to speculate about. Rumors of the S2000's rebirth have swirled essentially since it was discontinued, and they don't seem likely to die down anytime soon, unless Honda itself comes out and denies that the model will never make a comeback. In the meantime, an artist named Al Yasid recently gave the S2000 one of the more unique visual makeovers we've seen yet.

Targa Top

Yasid recently penned a very interesting Porsche 911 Targa, and given that car's influence on these S2000 renderings, it seems as if that design stuck with him. In fact, instead of maintaining the car's traditional convertible top, Yasid has equipped it with a Targa setup, which was designed to provide open-air driving with a bit more safety involved.

Porsche Influence

It's an interesting look for certain, but Yasid didn't just stop there - he went all-out with this particular redo, a look that features more Porsche influence in the form of a set of classic Fuchs wheels. From there, the front end features familiar S2000 styling cues like the headlights and fascia, but the rest of the car looks far different.

Speedtail

Just take the rear flanks, for example, which are flared out and shaped much like the McLaren Speedtail, hanging far beyond the rear wheels and flowing to a smooth finish in an effort to improve aerodynamics, as well as provide a truly unique look.

Exotic Looks

A set of four taillights hide inside of that interesting apparatus, meaning that no one would ever guess this was an S2000 from the rear - it looks more like a true exotic than anything else, which isn't a bad thing by any measure.

Coke Bottle

It's an interesting contrast to the front end, which is pure widebody S2000, a look that continues down its fluffed up flanks. In fact, the fenders are so wide that they leave the doors recessed far inward, giving this particular build a true Coke-bottle appearance.

Dare to be Different

It's an interesting take on a classic, if nothing else, though this McLaren and Porsche-inspired S2000 may not be everyone's cup of tea. Regardless, we just appreciate the fact that Yasid dared to do something different, while many others are simply happy to just slap a widebody kit on the S2000 and call it a day.
