Hi everyone,
Thanks for the questions, comments, and inquires so far. Here is some additional information based on your common questions, and some additional info I was able to find. I'll also update my original post to make this ad easier to follow.
1) This is a 2009 model year S2000 CR. The VIN verifies this, as do all of the paperwork (registration, title, previous sales docs)
2) The rubber strips on the wheel wells were there when I bought the car from the Honda dealership with ~5,000 miles. I assume they're OEM fender protector strips designed to minimize door dings/etc. These strips are more commonly seen on cars like Accords and Civics. They appear to be double stickied on and I have every reason to believe they can be easily removed. Possibly by applying some hot air via a hair dryer and carefully peeling them off. Obviously I'm not going to try to do this now, and there is always a risk that the paint under the strip may have weathered differently than the rest of the car. I'll post more detailed pictures of these strips.
3) The driver side fender does not have a VIN tag (as shown in the pictures). I noticed this shortly after we purchased the car. Since there is no color mismatch, paint chips, mis-alignment, or rattles, I never thought much about it. All other VIN tags are there including the front bumper and driver side door. There is also no overspray or evidence of repair. So I believe that it was repaired in a very professional manner prior to my ownership.
4) I was just made aware by a s2ki forum member that this car was originally owned by Honda of America and used as a PR vehicle prior to being purchased by Honda of Kirkland then sold to me. I believe Carfax will also show this.
5) Since we have owned the car, there has been no mechanical defects except for a dead battery. This was replaced at Honda of Kirkland. We also have a file of all service records.
6) Since making the post, I have a received couple of initial offers. Since it has been less than 24 hours, I would like to give this ad a few days or up to 1 week prior to evaluating/accepting less than near-full price offers. We do have 5 cars, and have decided to sell this one and have no interest in holding on to it for weeks or months. Therefore, if you're seriously interested and is considering an offer, feel free to PM and we can discuss. I've committed to keeping communication lines open with guys who have made initial offers and will keep all interested parties up to date.
7) I can provide the VIN number over PM. I'm also happy to take the car for a pre-sale inspection and assist with coordination with your shipper if transport is needed. Both the inspection and transport would be at your expense.
