Gernby eTune review - single best 'mod' available for 06+ S2000s
Let me start by saying this: if you own a 2006+ S2000 you need to get a Flashpro and you need to get a custom tune done by Gernby. Period.
Now, on to the review.
When I first bought my Flashpro, I did it because of the huge torque gains to be had from replacing the stock cat with either a testpipe or high-flow cat. I had initially thought you needed an aftermarket header to drop vtec down into the low-4000s or below, but then the posts I found from Gernby in 2010-2011 indicated that it was not the header, but in fact the stock cat that caused these cars to lose power with vtec any lower than 5500-5600.
From 2011 up to May of this year I had been running on a custom tune that was NOT done by Gernby. I had an issue with part throttle vtec (holding a steady RPM at 6000+ on the old tune was causing the car to surge/buck) so I posted about it on S2KI and much to my surprise I got a message from Gernby. He told me he'd seen this type of issue before and then informed me that he had started doing custom e-tunes for the general public. This was great news to me since I already knew he had a wealth of past research knowledge on these cars.
The e-tuning process by Gernby is unlike the prior e-tune process I had gone through in 2011. Gernby's process is very thorough and meticulous. I was very impressed with his unique approach to tuning.
As the car sits now, my vtec engages at 3600. The car is noticeably quicker in the midrange and runs smoother across the board than it ever has before. I can honestly say that my car on the Gernby tune is the smoothest I have ever felt in any car. It simply runs beautifully now.
I can't stress this enough. If you have a Flashpro-capable S2000 you owe it to yourself to contact Gernby and get a custom tune. Even if you have a custom tune already done by another company, it is worth it to switch. He knows his stuff when it comes to these cars.
One last time: if you own a 2006+ S2000 you need to get a custom tune done by Gernby.

Sorry, but I have no plans to offer tuning for anything other than flashpro. I'm really just capitalizing on the software I wrote during the R&D of my exhaust system (patent pending). I had to retune my car every day for over a year, so I had to automate it.

I'm on vacation at the moment, so I can't check to make sure, but I don't remember sending you a calibration to use for regular driving. Did I send you a daily tune, or are you using one of the tuning tunes? If you aren't using a tune that I've said is okay for daily driving, please stop immediately!
