Turbo spool point/revs
I run a gt35r mase kit at just under 20 psi, making 475 whp on slightly better than pump gas. I run a non restrictive 3 inch exhaust.
I fully spool by 5700 rpm seems a bit late just wondering what other people spool by on similar setups.
I'm thinking cams or Woodruff keys could help.
Thanks

Yeah i use aem boost solenoid.
I have a had a play with the boost tables, at the moment if i request say 14.8 psi it gives me 19 (boost compensation is off) which is the boost i actually want in 3-6th gear but not sure how this would increase spool rate ie lower revs.
Not sure if 5700 is normal for a gt35r?
Thanks

So i can really improve on it as far as when it fully spools by in revs? - i find it hard to believe that it could drop it much say from 5700 to 5400 for example - not doubting you, just it would be awesome if i could.
I have played with these tables just didnt think requested vs actual would make a difference to spool - i admit its off at the moment.
My boost is held all the way to redline at 19psi which is what i want.
Cheers

Waste gate spring makes a difference in spool up at higher boost levels. I opt to test out the 4 port solenoid rather than changing out the wastegate spring.
Ptuning Kit GTX3076. E85. 25psi - 30psi. 7 lb wastegate spring.?
You can definitely notice the difference on the butt pull between a 3 port and a 4 port. Boost just comes on faster when going from 4K rpm to 5K rpm on the boost gauge and holds steadily to redline.
The thing I don't like about the 4-port solenoid is that it is very sensitive to small duty cycle changes. Small changes results in large oscillation of boost. Took me a while to dial it in on the street. I can't even tell you how a 4th gear pull feels like. Just hold on the steering wheel and point it as straight as possible, even then it is a struggle to keep it straight. Wish I could rev it to 10K rpm, but it is way out of my comfort zone.

Your boost table is set 99.6 duty cyle. You boost comp % at 15psi is ~ -45% duty cyle. 99.6 - 45 = 54.6 duty cycle. At 54.6 duty cycle, you make 19psi.
Yes. Use a spring close to your target boost if you are running a 3 port boost solenoid to increase spool vs. rpm. Or run a 4 port solenoid.
