Hello, any suggestions for a fabrication/muffler shop that can perform a simple muffler bypass for me (uk exhaust mod)? Located in Central CT, but anywhere in CT or Southern MA should work. Based on what I'm hearing, it shouldn't cost more than $100, parts included. It's a simple, straight forward mod, but I don't want to take it to a hack shop. Thanks

I have the same issue, I don't trust the conventional shops much.

But my father gets a lot of work done at CARRS in Vernon.

Car Analogy

I think the biggest issue is making sure they use the correct stainless mig wire. Any wire will work just to make the weld, but it won't hold up and will rust if its not the right wire.

Its a pain to swap the wire spool on a mig, so shop is very likely to pressure you to let them use whatever is already in the welder, which is sure to be plain copper stuff.

It'll be fine at first, even a few years, but it will rust out when the rest of the system, which is stainless, will still be fine. By then it will be so long past when they did it, its not like you could go back and complain.

I wouldn't mind this mod, just don't want my welds to rust. I am in MA by the way.
