Default Oil analysis on my track S2000

In wanting to know how long I can track on 300v, I sent in a sample to be tested. The car had 5 full track days, 2 AutoX's, and the rest were street miles (mixed with spirited driving... I'll be honest, I romp on it often). The car is also running on E85 and uses and AEM dry filter. I forgot to put the mileage in for the S2000... It has 34,xxx miles. I have an oil cooler on the S2000 which does not get drained during oil changes.

I also sent in a sample of my truck, which this sample consisted of about 500 or so miles of towing the S2000.

I will probably do this a few more times and then throttle back to a random checkup of sampling.

I found this virgin sample of 300v 5w40:

I never miss a chance to post up on UOA threads. Thanks for posting. All I can say is this looks like a great match for your car and driving conditions. Wear numbers are quite good, the oil change interval (OCI) is relatively short but the wear numbers are also low. Considering the driving conditions this is a good report.

I like the additive package of this oil, nice moly count . You could run this oil much longer, viscosity is in the correct range, TBN is still really high indicating a lot of life left in the oil, low fuel and no coolant present. You could probably go 8k-10k miles if you wanted to.

I initially thought silicon readings were high, which typically represents dirt from the intake system. But it looks like Motul has a decent amount of silicon in virgin oil form , much like Redline Oil does. So all is good in this report

^ I posted a virgin sample. Silicon jumped from 10 to 13.

I will likely use the oil longer next time. I had never done an oil sample prior to this, so I had to start somewhere. Previously, I've used other peoples sample results on my different vehicles to get an idea of how long I should use oil for my applications.

The lack of moly in the 8100 is somewhat alarming!

Here is mine. We should be pretty comparable. My car has around 40k miles and is running the same oil. No oil cooler though. First one was with three days (4 sessions total per day) at Roebling. Second one had a a couple Sebring days on it.

That's why I commented in your post about the lack of moly. Motul is known for running lots of Moly , much like Redline Oil. If I was going to run Motul I'd go with the 300v formula, they cut back on the Moly in the 8100 formula, hence the lower price point ?

Equally good reports, that viscosity and oil looks like a good match for track-driven S2000's.

I just didn't realize how much it lacked!! I am going to try Joe Gibbs Driven the next time around.

Isn't the 300v quite expensive?
