Garaged S2Ks

My parking is under cover, but open at both ends. The cars can become very dusty in only a day or two, and as my S2000 is black I decided that a cover would be a good idea. It needed to be waterproof, as rain can blow on to the cars given the wrong conditions.
I ended up with a cover from Specialised Car Covers, tailored to fit the S2000 with four under car straps to prevent it from flapping about and flailing the paintwork. This was largely successful, but still left signs of rubbing when removed.
Our resident fox took to sleeping on the roof of the car, so the cover proved its worth until I discovered a means of persuading it to go elsewhere.
The answer was to buy a couple of cheap cotton bed sheets and lay these over the car before putting the cover on. This may seem a bit of a faff, and it is exactly that when the wind is blowing, but it means that I now have a breathable, waterproof cover which doesn't rub the paintwork. As I tend to only use the car occasionally this solution works well for me, but I wouldn't bother with a cover for a daily driver - as already noted, the car needs to be clean before being covered.

Mine spends 5 months like this every winter.
Roll the cover on. Roll it off.

I use car painters clear masking film, on a roll 150mtrs about £16 ebay. You need a good dry garage though and best let car air at times if not using it.
Cheap and disposable, and always clean off the roll. Solvent proof as well.

In all the cars I've stored in a garage I never used a cover although I did debate it now I've got the S2K. Some garage appeared to suffer with condensation and mould so much so that the car would have water droplets form on the underside when sat still over winter for months on end - not ideal with a cover; so it completely depends on the garage.
