Headed to Scotland
Just found out today that Vito will be in Coulport, Scotland on Navy business July 23-31. I will be accompanying him. Woohoo! From the map it appears it is 40 miles west of Glasgow. Not sure if our Scottish members (C7BLE et al) are anywhere near there, but maybe we can arrange a meeting. Also looking for ideas on things to do/see.

Debs, I hope you do meet up with a few of the "S2K Jocks" up there, including Cable... Those guys seem to have a great time.
What's the weather like there in late July?

Outside of Glasgow, there's little town called Bell's Hill. Give it a wave if you see it - Virginija and I got 'unofficially' engaged there (unofficial because she was still technically engaged to someone else at the time.... long story...)
Have a great time - we did, and the people there are wonderful!

The weather is normally pretty good that time, its our summer time you know
Try and meet up with the jocks Great bunch of lads.
Glasgow is a bit rough but Edinburgh is good and plenty of touristy things to do and see.

Sounds great to me. Have fun. I especially like Jeff's suggestion about the scotch. Enjoy. (I'll see you in Ohio before you leave).

Remember that old Mike Myers routine on SNL:
"If it's not Scottish it's crap!"
Have fun over there. Make sure to visit a distillery if you get the chance; it's really amazing how Wiskey is being produced.

Well if I was ANYWHERE close to there I would find the time to go to the island of Islay and visit Laphroaig so I could go on a distillery tour. I'm seriously into single malt scotch, and Laphroaig is by far my hands down favorite.
And as an FYI, I can tell ya the 30-year old bottle is ~$250, and worth every penny.

Have a great trip and congrats! My heritage is Scotish and someday I would love to go there!
