What's the connection to the laptop from the eManage, Giles? Is it a serial port? Ethernet? USB?

That's quite cool. Glad you don't have to get an OBD connector or anything!

There may be a little tweaking needed after tuning.
Is this tweaking partial throttle adjustments? Are you talking about sending back datalogs, and getting updated maps?

Also does the ULT "disable" the stock ECU knock protection when it is operating? What happens if you get a bad tank of gas? In my area only Sunoco has 94 octane, everybody else has 91. Just don't want to get stuck somewhere without a Sunoco station. I was thinking that the multiple mapping feature could be used to go to a stock tune when there is no 91+ gas around.

Is this tweaking partial throttle adjustment? Yes

Are you talking about sending back datalogs, and getting updated maps? Only if necessary

Also does the ULT "disable" the stock ECU knock protection when it is operating? NO

What happens if you get a bad tank of gas? The factory ecu should be able to deal with this . Are you guys using the new Ethanol Gas in Canada ?

The tweaking is not limited to just part throttle adjustments. If you do have problem it is very unlikely that datalogs will be needed. The stock knock control remains totally unchanged, we are not desensitising the knock sensor or anything remotely dangerous to find the power. We are working within the boundaries of the stock ECU. Tuning for two types of gas can take a while as the tank needs to be completely drained or the car needs to go through several full tank cycles before it is purged totally of the other octane fuel. It would probably be best for you to go with the most readily availble fuel octane. One day Sunoco 94 octane disappeared from the pumps here in NH. This could happen where you are too, especially now that gas prices are rising as demand will fall.

Thanks for the replies guys. I definitely want a 94 map, as Sunoco's are easy to find, especially by the local tracks. The S2000 isn't my only car, so no 94 its not that much of a concern. Even if there isn't a 91 map, it looks like the ULT can just be put in bypass mode for OEM performance.

I believe ethanol content is limited to 10% up here. I'm pretty sure that Sunoco goes up to the 10% ethanol limit to get the high octane. Noticed that fuel economy goes down on Sunoco94. What's the issue with ethanol? I live on the border of Quebec which strangely enough doesn't have Sunoco 94, but PetroCanada has 93 but only in Quebec not the Ontario side

I definitely want to get a unit. It's just a matter of finding a good time to make the journey down and getting my passport renewed....
