Handbrake warning light keeps coming on
Hi guys,
as some of you might remember I had a front right caliper failure in early September. Honda swapped it out, but to the best of my knowledge didn't top up the fluid.
Since then I keep randomly getting the handbrake warning light coming onthe dash. I've checked the centre console and it's not the switch there.
Interesting point to note is that it's coming on when I'm braking using the footbrake, which according to some searches I have done means low fluid.
I've checked and it's definately below max, being just above minimum.
I have a trackday on Saturday so I need this sorting properly. Is my best option to get all new fluid put in, bleeding the brakes to play it safe, or should I just top them up ? Brakes feel great as ever so I'm thinking a top up.
Fluid, if it matters, is rbf600 put in during late august.

As you already know you have RBF600 in there just top up with that to the max level. Simples.
You can't change the caliper without putting in new fluid and bleeding the system etc. So if Honda did it, and you didn't supply some fluid, then it won't be RBF600 you have.
Why is the fluid low? The level drops when the brake pads wear out, the idea being that the light comes on when you need new pads. Just topping up the resevoir to make the light go away isn't a good answer.
So check your pads, and check for leaks too in case that's the reason.

If the level is on the min limit, the light comes on when you brake and goes off again when you accelerate.
As above, top up and check for leaks. (Not easy when it's dark most of the time)
