OEM Replacement clutch
I am in the process of replacing mine. Just looking for any advice as to which way to go. Do people go Honda OEM or OEM equivalent like Exedy? I have heard Exedy is the manufacturer of OEM Honda clutch. Any other OEM equivalent brands people have experimented with? Luk, Valeo, Sachs? They all list OEM replacement clutches with regard to clamp force. Any brands last longer or slip less with CDV found in AP2's when the car is not launched properly?
Per the stock class rulebook:
"Alternate components which are normally expendable and
considered replacement parts (e.g., engine and wheel bearings,
seals, gaskets, filters, belts, bolts, bulbs, batteries, brake rotors,
clutch discs, pressure plates, suspension bushings, drivetrain
mounts, etc.) may be used provided they are essentially identical to
the standard parts (e.g. have the same type, size, hardness, weight,
material etc.), are used in the same location, and provide no
performance benefit."

FWIW, I went with a Honda OEM. I have no reason to think that any other one which is "equivalent" and doesn't give any performance benefit is somehow better anyway, and I see no reason to wonder if my clutch is subject to a legitimate protest.
I wish the OEM were stronger, but it is what it is....

Just passing along some potentially usefull information on this topic hoping to spur some conversation on what people are doing here.
Tony, Thank you for your interest in Exedy products. Exedy is not the OEM supplier for the S2000. FCC is the OEM manufacture for this vehicle. Since we do not manufacture the pressure plate for this vehicle we do not have clamp load data. The KHC06 uses the FCC pressure plate with a Exedy clutch disc. Whether you use a OEM or a OEM replacement clutch generally you are going to get the same torque holding capacity.
