I haven't yet, hiep. I am leaving them be for the 72 hours full curing time for the fabric glue for the inside patch before I do any water tests.
Marc, the most popular top protectant is raggtop. You can get it from detailers domain and use the s2ki discount. Full kit comes with both a cleaner and protectant.

I also use 303 but I find it tends to run when it gets wet and streaks down the windows where raggtop doesn't.

I have patched the splits on both sides of my top a couple of times and what has worked the best was suggested in another forum. The Permatex kit and suggestions from a local top company were not effective.
What did work for me was buying a flexible vinyl scrap from the fabric store ($4 for a yard) and using Ultra Black RTV generously as an adhesive. Has worked very well thus far.
