Default Differential Fluid

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering which gear oil to use for our differential. I did search and most commonly use is Mobil 1 75w-90. My questions would be what's the different between Mobil 1 75w90 and Mobil 1 LS 75w90? Would either or okay to use in differential? S2000 Differential is Limited Slip so therefore should I use the LS or just regular? Can someone please clarifies what's the different between those two?

I have someone said is Mobil 1 LS 75w90 are more for after market differential but not sure if it's correct information or not.

Thank you very much for your input

I never thought about it as I noticed the LS when I got a bottle. Just assumed LS was Limited-Slip.

It also exceeds GL-5 so I'm sure it's fine to put in.

If you would have done some proper research - no offence - you would have found the consensus (as in: most will agree, me certainly) is that SAE 110 (LE 1605) or SAE 75W-110 (Amsoil SG) is the modern day replacement for the OEM recommended, although hard-to-find, SAE 90 (look it up in your manual, its a FACT!) differential oil, in an OEM diff.

Oh well...

You can use either M1 75W-90 gear oils. They seem to be the most popular gear oils on this site. Our Torsen differential doesn't require LS additive, so take your pick.

SpitfireS offers you the best advice though.

Good luck.

I believe LE 1605 is the most commonly used.
