Default STR - Engine Mounts

Has anyone confirmed if the Innovative motor mounts legal for STR? It looks like these mounts completely replace the engine bracket, stopper, and mount. Has anyone checked to see if there is more metal in this replacement than OEM? Did anyone weigh before and after?

It looks like there is either significantly more metal, or significantly less bushing than OEM.

If not, now about the Hardrace. These look like an OEM mount with additional polyurethane.

I find it hard to believe no one has these mounts. Any input about these mounts would be appriciated.

I'm considering the Megan Racing mounts which appear OEM like, just cheaper than the Hardrace variants. No way in hizell I'd be "trying" the innovative mounts out. Look terrible, probably feel terrible and are probably illegal as well for certain SCCA classes.

Thanks. I thought it had been discussed before. Good to know somebody did water displacement tests on these.

I'll look around at all the options and pull the trigger on something soon.

I wouldn't go with the innovative ones. The 60a don't last very long and the 75a rattle everything. I've go with the hardrace ones or something.

I'm running the Innovative 75a. I'm not running the transmission mount. I inquired with a STAC member about their legality and he assured me they were legal. I can't remember why though. I think Brian Bell wrote a letter to the SEB for a clarification and found that they were legal.

They do shake the car a bit but it's not bad. I don't really think they offer any extra performance though. I think in the CRX motormounts were great because the wheels are directly attached to the axles-transmission-engine but on this car, there is enough isolation that I don't feel the responsiveness that I enjoyed so much with the CRX.

I'm looking at the Innovative 75A steel mounts for my race car but there's a note on the website:

NOTE: Steel Mount Kits Do NOT include Front Mounts

Do the other engine mount kits include the front mounts?

I'm running Hardrace mounts. For the cost of OEM motor mounts they come with Motor and Trans Mounts. There is a little vibration but it is very tolerable. I would highly recommend them for someone looking for something STR compliant.
