Good news and bad news

Bad news first-I had to return the test mule and now she drives like a muffintop
Muffintop you say...yes, fat through the middle-all the mid range the Gernpipe achieved poof, gone

Good news-dyno plots prove me right
Here they are and we can begin some discussion
Gern pipe tuned vs stock no tune

Gern pipe vs stock tuned

As you can see the Gern made better power pretty much throughout.

Being a dyno newb, the conditions were the same for both tests, all done within 90 minutes and the pulls were 4th gear.
I have about 20 pulls of all different varieties and am happy to answer to the best of my ability.

Thanks to True Street Motorsports in McKinney TX for all the help getting this done.

Now let's begin discussions.

Thanks Peter for all your effort, and for getting the graphs posted up so quickly! You'll be the first in line for a production unit! Who knows ... it might be worth a fortune some day!

While I'm glad to see that the midrange gains were about what I expected, I am a bit disappointed that the high RPM gains weren't more significant. I don't know if that was an issue with the tune, heat soak, or just the fact that the stock mufflers don't flow as well as the mufflers I've used. Regardless, I don't think I've ever seen gains like this from an exhaust modification.

Gern pipe was tuned, one is vs stock exhaust with tune the other stock exhaust without tune
One of the big benefits of the gernpipe is that is allows for more tuning, earlier in the range. The VTEC engagement is seamless, no 6K blast off.

And Gernby, with the improved power delivery, I will keep the fortune invested in the car, via a midpipe.

There would be some gains without a tune, but neither of the plots posted above show the Gern Pipe with the stock tune.

Peter, would you mind posting the dyno files for download?
