rear evap removal help
i know there are a couple threads on this subject. but i just want to make sure im doing the right thing here
i pulled these 2 hoses up from the bottom...
the larger one vents for sure.. im going to drill a hole near the gas cap.
but what do i do with the other smaller one. them both seem to be coming from nearly the same location.
also.. on either of them. what would you recommend. a filter, or checkvalve... or something else?

another thought.. does one let air out and the other suck air in?
any help would be appreciated.

called around and found out a bit more. im still not sure if one or all of them vent one or both ways... but i am basically going to vent the larger water vent under the car (with a filter), and vent the other two (large and small) hoses to the gas lid (with 2 way filters). ill post a pic when its complete.
also... i took EVERYTHING out.. the can, solenoids, catch can...hoses(fuel feed and return as well) all that bs!

definately in for the results!!!! i did so much research but never found a good solution. so you will only have one vent open coming from the tank venting to the atmosphere? and that one will be near the filler so it can breathe out from the filler opening?
from the reading ive done, there is one main vent hose that goes to the canister. this would be the one you should vent to the filler area??? but then fuel can evaporate at a fast rate wasting gas, would a check valve be a good idea to allow excess pressure out near the filler area but not let anything in???

best way i guess would be to test a check valve on each hose until u figure out which one brings air in and which relieves pressure... bit risky. i will try this for now. if i lose too much fuel ill look into it further.
i found a cool filter. didnt get it done today. ill have it completed and posted here tom

im a little confused, i havent really looked further than into the post i linked above. but are you talking about the two hoses in the link that are highlighted in blue and yellow? one is for the main vent and one is a water drain for the canister. so your saying there are two direct vent lines from the tank and not one main vent? if so i would think they could both vent both ways, but may be wrong. blowing on the hose could tell you something possibly.
i started with the 2 hoses that are connected at the top of the tank.

i extended them and made sure i got out of the tank case properly. then i tee'd off into one larger hose.

i was going to use 2, but i decided one hole was all i wanted to put near the gas lid. i found these filters at a motorcycle shop and thought they would fit nicely. the filter fit SNUG ontop of the hose, then i put heat shrink over just for kicks.

i drilled a 1in hole from the inside of the car (the paint chipped a bit... but i can touch up later). the filter fit tight and flush.
you have to look up into the gas lid area to see it. perfect for the stealthy look i was going for.

just to be clear.. the BLUE hose in the pic below is the larger one that i pulled up top and vented (along with ANOTHER smaller one i found). it is the vent for the tank.
the yellow hose i just cut a little shorter. i will also put a small filter on that hose as well...but it is only a water drain.

i will see how this works and let you know what happens.
