Pulley Bearings
#23
Replaced my idler pulley bearing (for reference it was a NTN 6203LU) with one of these
Even though the play was minimal it's really quietened the engine. I decided that the low friction seals were a good thing and that a C3 clearance probably wasn't needed - operating temp up to 100C and peaks of 120C are good enough and you don't get the built in expansion "play" of the C3 bearing.

resurrecting this thread.... How are your guys bearings holding up??? changed my aux belt yesterday and the tensioner pulley has a LOT of play... funny enough absolutely no warning of this though. no strange sounds nothing anyways, I think replacing the bearing is the option I want to go for rather than pay £75 for a new pulley.

Yep, still going strong for me, I did only replace the idler but I do have the other one ready to fit to the tensioner as that as started a bit of a harmonic at start up.

I missed this post - sorry for the delay. Still going strong, no play or noise but to be fair I only put on about 2K miles per year - still got the other one to fit to the idler but concerned about shearing the bolt/snapping the tensioner so adopted the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" methodology
