Too Pricey?

As S2000 fans are well aware, prices for Honda's beloved roadster have been on a steady incline for years now, long before the supply chain went off its rails and sent used vehicle prices soaring to record levels. This makes now a great time to sell, but not such a great time to buy. Case in point - this modified AP1 that's currently up for sale at Donada Group in Arleta, California for a hefty price of $39,995.

Passing the Eye Test

The first thing one will notice is that this is no low-mile gem, either - it has 110k miles on the clock, which isn't terrible, but it also isn't befitting of the car's somewhat high asking price. The seller does claim that it's been well maintained and has the paperwork to back that up, however. And this AP1 passes the eye test, at least.

Interior Modifications

The interior has received a host of upgrades, including a set of Buddy Club seats, an aftermarket steering wheel, and a bronze shift knob, from what we can see. There's also an aftermarket radio mounted behind the factory cover, and we imagine that there's more here the seller hasn't listed, too.

Tidy Cabin

Regardless, the cabin looks very tidy and clean, with no wear or damage that we can see. It's certainly in fantastic condition for a car with over 100k miles, if nothing else.

OEM Looking

The same goes for the engine bay, which is clean and mostly original in appearance. The seller doesn't list any modifications present on this car, so we don't know if there's something hiding like a tune or internal upgrades, but things look pretty OEM under the lid.

Total Makeover

On the outside, that's a different story, of course. This AP1 has an aftermarket front end, hood, side skirts, hood, rear fender flares, and rear bumper, giving it a total makeover in that sense. It's also rolling on a set of white aftermarket wheels, though this combination looks pretty good in our humble opinion.

Nice Price?

Someone obviously spent a good amount of money making this AP1 unique, but that never pays off when you sell a car. This one might be an exception, however, if someone is willing to dish out $40k for it. We're not so sure that will actually happen, but then again, we've seen crazier things in our lifetime.
