Carbotech - XP8 or XP10
i'm thinking to get Carbotech this time - but still deliberating whether to get XP10 or XP8.
i mostly drive on the street - but in a way that most of the pads don't hold up (for example HP+ and DS2500 are too weak for me).
EBC Yellows (rated up to 1440F) were marginal - they didn't fade too much but pads themselve showed signs of overheating.
Brake ducting is on the way too.
i would go for XP10 but i'm afraid that noise will make me crazy...
also i do Auto-X - so cold performance is also important (this where Wilwood BP20 let me down).

I am considering the carbotech pads as well . Ax6 was what I wanted but the reviews are so hit and miss. I might go to the project mu club racer instead if I don't get some better info on the ax6

Croc, I run XP10s front and rear with my car currently. It's a 95% auto-x & 5% track build. The track I lap at is relatively low speed 100 mph max into 60mph turn...and an 85-35 braking zone into a hairpin. I never have problems with overheating. The XP10s work OK for auto-x if you drag the brakes everywhere through the paddock/grid.
With the OE front rotors, the XP10s would start howling a few days after a track day. With the Wilwood rotors & Dynalite calipers from the 3R Auto BBK, the XP10s are silent. Dust is still pretty crazy, but the noise is much more tolerable with the Wilwoods than with the OE rotors.

You are getting ducting - I would recommend an XP8 if you aren't planning real track duty. The XP10's will be noisier, dustier, and eat your rotors quicker on the street. The XP8 will be overkill for autox but they have bite after one stop in the cold.
For track day use, XP10 would be the way to go.

You may want to do more research most stagger the pads, XP10's Front and XP8's Rear.
As for your driving just remember that brake pads are made to operate in a range of temperature. If you don't want to eat rotors the pads need to be very warm, much more than street driving will generate.
Hopefully you find a good combo!

I am running xp 10 front and xp8 rear. I daily my car. Noisy for a week now they are quiet like stock. rarely make a peep. I miss the noise =[ but they are dusty. I am use to the stopping power and it feels normal to me almost instantly. But when you press the pedal with slightly more pressure your stopping power increases.
