Hello fellow NE/CT owners. My wife and I have been kicking around the idea of moving to CT from Long Island. Selling our current house and getting into something cheaper up here. Currently looking in the Naugatuck, CT area. I'm basically looking for some recommendations as far as neighborhoods go, nothing too rural, I dont like to be in the middle of nowhere. We recently visited Mystic and Stonington, but they seemed a bit too far east and a tick out of our price range. Any guidance is appreciated. We havent met with any real estate agents as of yet, just shopping around. Thanks -Mark

There are lots of variables with what you are asking. Schools, price range, land size, in town, suburb, old, newer,etc. Naugatuck is sort of average. Surrounding towns like Middlebury, Oxford, Prospect, are nicer, but are more rural, but not all out in the sticks. Though housing prices are higher. I live in Waterbury, but there are lots of areas that I would stay away from and tax and insurance rates tend to be higher. Happy hunting.
