Do you know where you will be working? There are a lot of good neighborhoods but there are a lot more bad ones. Are you looking to buy a house, rent a house or rent an apartment? What is your price range? Do you want to be near shops/stores/ect. Do you have any kids? If so, school selection will factor into your choice. Jacksonville is a very large city land wise, population is not too bad. We will be able to help you out with more information.

I have lived on the west side (orange park area) and didn't care for it too much. Traffic is horrible, but there are some really nice, affordable housing areas. Apartments are not the best though. I currently live in the southern part and enjoy it. I have lived on this side of town for about 4 years now and am happy here. This part is a little pricey though. Stay away from the north side. The biggest problem with Jacksonville is it's size. It is so large and spread out that all the older, lower income neighborhoods are spread out.

Have you ever been to moncrief? Lol.

LMAO, I'm pretty sure that extreme sarcasm from Tim. I laughed when saw those areas for recommendation.

I know it was sarcasm- I was curious if Tim has ever been there (especially driving the dodge).

I used to insure a house in the area and it took two of us to go take the pictures. I had the gun and the other guy had the concealed weapons permit.

Argyle or Oakleaf in Orange Park is a great area to live. And it's very close to the Navy base NAS Jax if you're working there.
