Corner balance Charlotte area
#3
It's not the scales that are the problem, it's the knowledge and skill needed to get the car balanced and aligned at the same time. The last time I got my car balanced it took 5 hours and cost me $500. Then a tie-rod bearing went out, so I replaced the tie rod, got the car re-aligned, and poof! No more corner balance.
Do you know how to corner balance a car? If not, I can ask Mate how time consuming/PITA it is and if it's something we should take on. I'm sure we will also need an alignment tool (he is a fan of the string-type).

I know how to corner balance, but don't have the scales. Absolutely a time consuming process. After seeing a friend's SmartStrings I'm just going to build my own and save several hundred bucks. I've not done an alignment but know where the adjustment points are and how they function, so shouldn't be that difficult.

Do you guys know Mike Kuhn down in Charlotte? Hes an autox'er and pro photographer who owns his own scales and has offered more than once to perform corner balances for the SCCA group. I'm not sure of the cost, quality, or time; just throwing out a resource that might get you what you need. He's all over social media, just search his name and look for a black RX8 in autox nationals livery.
