Do I have an oem alarm?
I purchased a used ap2 thinking that the car wasn't equipped with any alarm. However, I took a look underneath my steering column today and noticed a blue Karr shock sensor unit. It shows model # KS-9495-4P. It has a red indicator light but isn't on. Is this the oem shock sensor? If not, any clues as to what it may indicate the car has? It looks like this:
My car also has an led of some sort underneath my steering column. It doesn't come on but if you hold on to a button on the led unit, it will turn on but stay solid and not blink. Here's how it looks:
I'm using the factory Honda remote and all it does it open/close the doors and pop the trunk. I was thinking about getting an alarm but if my car is already equipped with one, I may just try to get this one working!! Any clues on what my car may have?
Thanks!!!

My MY07 came with the KARR system installed by the dealer, looks exactly like what you have. I've had no problems with it, it does sound off if the car is moved, you keep all the factory keyfob abilities, and it locks/unlocks the doors for you when you turn the ignition on/off. There is a small pot adjusment on the shock sensor for sensitivity, however that is the only thing i've found that is user freindly. I could not find any info on their website explaining how to setup the system. This system is primarily sold to dealerships as a front-loaded addon, meaning you will probly have to find a dealership to have it setup for you... Here is a link i found: http://www.swdealerservices.com/services.html

ALL the newer cars have an OEM alarm installed, the KARR system is basically a piggyback unit to your OEM alarm and works with an OEM remote.
If you purchase an OEM alarm remote, you will be able to use the Alarm system, you just have to program it.
I know how to program OEM alarms, but you might have to contact KARR to program the remote to work with the KARR alarm.

The easiest way to check if you have an alarm, is to lock the car (arm the alarm) with the windows down. Reach in, unlock the car and open the door. If the horn/siren beeps, then you have an alarm. If nothing happens, you probably just have a keyless entry.
