Default Alarms concurrent with OEM Immobilizer?

I was just curious to what the people who have installed an
after market alarm have experienced in regards to the
OEM Immobilizer Anti-Theft that comes standard.

Can you make them work concurrently or is it one or the
other. I am especially interested in peoples experiences with Alpine Alarms.

Thanks,

An Alpine alarm will provide you with extended protection capabilities whereas the immobilizer system only defeats attempts to start the car without a properly coded dealer made key. The alarm will enhance anti theft protection if you have options installed such as a motion or also what is known as a microwave sensor which would be hidden in the interior of the vehicle in order to detect intrusion, a shock sensor to detect impact vibrations from forced entry and/or a glass breakage sensor which some manufacturers have discontinued but consists of a microphone that picks up certain sound frequencies such as metal on glass.
