hey guys

I've searched this topic quite a bit, but most of the threads are rather old so I started my own. From reading the forums, this issue seems to be very common in ap1's.

How many of you (AP1 OWNERS) have these headlight blisters/bubbles? I'm sure a lot of you AP1 Owners, have them and probably have never even noticed them.

I've read that it's from the sun reflecting off the projector, and melting the plastic, which seems to be a bubble, but i think it's more like a solid bubble, not like a bubble you would want to pop, and if you popped it, i would think that your headlight would get worse.

What i'd like to know is, how many of have noticed you had them, and do these things get worse over time, and blow up to be huge?!

or do they just kind of hang out there the size they are?

I was just looking at mine the other day. That's the same theory one of our locals said about light reflecting and causing it to bubble up. I had my lights cleared 3 years ago and he pointed it out then. Since then it looks basically the same and doesn't seem to have gotten any larger. I wouldn't be too concerned about it personally.

Didn't really look close but mine are a bit hazy. I got the Permatex headlight restoration kit so it's on my to do list.

I don't know what's in the Permatex kit, but generally all you need is a plastic polish like PlastiX or Novus. The haze comes off in just a few minutes of polishing.

I'm not talking about the hazy part, that can be easily fixed (polished) in different ways. i'm talking about a BLISTER INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT.

So you just left it, and didn't do anything about it right?

do you think it gets worse by driving with your headlights on during the day, or probably not?

I was just rather irritated as I got a set of JDM headlight,s and one of them had that blister.

I wanted to fix them, but if i opened them up, they would only be worth what a usdm set with ricks clear corners in them.

^ Yea I just left it alone. I would probably open up another set that has the blister and see if you can take care of it and not open up your JDM lights. However I think it just got hot and it melted a bit and bubbled up and cooled. You could probably sand and respray it but like I said I wouldn't be concerned. This was 3 years ago and they look the same as they did then.

Ok cool, i'll just leave mine alone then, and then if the problem gets worse later down the road, then i will open them. stupid blisters, stupid honda.
