finally started my r33 diff swap
so after breaking numerous differentials i was fed up with the oem diffs.. so with not wanting to spend the ridicoulus amount of money on the inline pro diff swap or kings diff swap kit. i decided that i had enough knowledge to come up with my own plan.. i looked into different diffs till i finally found one that was perfect. after alot of research i came across the r33 gts-t differential out of the skyline gts. not gtr. reason why it was so perfect was because not only does it have a 4.11 gear ratio which matches almost perfect to the oem s2000 final drive but also has the same axle output flanges as the oem s2000 diff. the 6 bolt patteren. normally to the nissans its a 5 bolt. well if your not putting down a large amount of horsepower then maybe you dont need the $1000 axels. although i may get those anyways. after ordering a complete rear sub frame diff and all included from a r33 skyline. i fianlly got home to mess around with it a little. also took many pictures! so i will start uploading soon.
after all is done i will include a price on everything. when im done and see what all it takes to make it perfect i hope ill be able to guide/help other s2000 owners get this diff in there s2000's!
also if anyone has any help for me it would be much appriciated and also any questions ask away. ill try and answer them to the best of my abilitys.
im currently in the army so i dont get much time to work on it. every time i get enough time to do so i do work on it. i will keep it update as much and as soon as possible. i know it will be done by christmas cause im taking bunch of leave days. hopefully i will have a rough draft of the rear mount soon and can throw in the cnc machine and have it made. let me know what you think so far! thanks
i paid $500 shipped to my door for the whole rear sub frame from a skyline.
the first pic of the complete sub frame.
the moment of thruth oem s2000 axle on skyline diff
amd it fits! perfect!
another extra s2000 diff i have laying around
remove the driveshaft output flange
cut flange to fit in skyline flage, be sure to cut enough so splines are gone
it fits inside almost perfect
now to check and make sure 32mm socket fits for skyline output incase ever need to remove it
fits perfect!
ready for the shop to weld it in place
after all is done i will include a price on everything. when im done and see what all it takes to make it perfect i hope ill be able to guide/help other s2000 owners get this diff in there s2000's!

Sure is nice how all the flanges seem to work with no problem. I hope the rest of the install goes as smooth. What kind of power are the modified skylines putting though this diff?

Looks like a good project but I already see 2 issues....first is the axles spacing from hub to diff even though it bolts right up its going to be too long coz from what i can see from the pictures the R33 diff is a lil wider than the S's diff....then next is the flange which will be the weakest point since its going to be 2 piece and just welded on but since your not running high HP's it might hold.
Just in my perspective though but since you have the hands on hope you can pull this off and be added to the list of other better alternative and cost effective replacement for our stock diff.

Nice man ive been saying for a while now skyline diff be nice swap, hope all works out and thanks for the share, seems like alot guy who do custom things wanna keep it such a secrete

I dont think the r200 is that much wider, I know the r200 off the 300zx is less than 1.5 inches wider. Im not sure about the sykline version since it has different output shafts though. Did you measure the width of the skyline r200 yet? If this works would be a very good option to those looking for a cheap diff upgrade.
