I really find this thread amuzing. We are all told where the upgrade is at. It is stumbling but the admins are working on the issues. It will be great just like the old site but better. Have some damn confidence. What really gets my back hairs standing up is all the "I" would like's. Man it isn't about you, it is about a service that we have all come to enjoy. It isn't ours to pick and choose what we like and don't like. Change is difficult for everyone. Give it a chance. Forget the old and welcome the new.

Just let the administrators fix the major problems. They know what they are. The petty personal stuff like where are my badges, where are my PM's..., man it has all been explained. If you have the admins tracking down every little unimportant issue then they can never hit the bigger ones. Right now the big issue is finding out what is using up all the processing that is making the site dead slow. Other than that nothing matters at this point.

To me after so much whinning I would have just removed all access, put up the "working on the site" banner and kicked everybody the hell off until the "big" issues were fixed. Any upgrade comes in steps of priority, functionality, navigation, profiles, look and feel..., most of the complaints I am reading fall into the last category.

Sorry for the venting but geez give them a break. We have been informed about what is happening, it is all TEMPORARY so wait for the real thing working the way it should, then get your petty requests out of the way.

Any new news? System seemed to slow down again so I'm guessing we're getting close? Maybe the PM's are getting loaded now?


BTW I may have saved all us a few seconds by deleting most of my PM's you guys can thank me later

 

Keep in mind guys, S2ki is on the top 50 list of largest forums on the internet.

 

Private Messages are now back online and data complete.

 

I wouldn't draw any conclusions from the momentary performance of the site. I'm doing a lot in the background which can cause that to change moment to moment.

 

CThree I'm not sure if the whole community is effected or not, but I only have PM's people have sent me and not ones I have sent. I actually have double of what has been sent to me(duplicate messages).

Yes this has occurred for me as well

 

I don't have duplicates but I do have all my deleted PM's, there was only one PM that I found out of three pages that was new so I've been doing a good job of deleting what I didn't need

I guess I didn't do a very good job of deleting my deleted PM's ooops


Should I go ahead and delete them now or wait till later sometime?
