And by the way... The functionality on a mobile device is great! I'm not yet impressed with the iPhone App for IPBoard, but looks alright in Safari!

LOLOLOL I'd better turn up with someone elses car then

I don't suppose you can tell cThree to let me do the bloody work, I'll get it all sorted in no time

Frustrating knowing you can do something but then you can't because its not yours d:

EDIT:The benefit of the IPB app is being able to click "Settings" before you enter the site to manage your notification settings.
You also can use the "Messenger" feature, see new notifications and the "View New Content" feature with the app
.. as you can't do that on the normal mobile site

Ladies.. please take your personal issues away from this thread. There was a purpose to this thread.

Since s2ki has been around for 11 years, and we have done 5 or so upgradges we understand what is happening and what people are going through. Cthree is the brains of this site for the last 11 years, and has catered to most of the requests from the site visitors. If it wasn't for him, none of us would be here today. If you are not willing to show some patience, and prefer other sites, then please feel free to visit those other sites. This is not the end of the world, and sometimes things do not go as planned. Since the forum software creators are involved, we are at a bit of a standstill until help can be provided.

Thank you. Now you can go back to your cave and I can continue reporting problems as I find them (or didn't you bother reading that part?).

One of the funniest things I've read in a while (okay 3 days ). Just make sure it's Joeh's car and not mine.

Ok, nice drama, I personally don't have time for it right now so I'm not going to address or even read it but it looks fun.

The PM reconvert is STILL running! I expected it to take a couple of hours but I'm on hour 20 now. It is like watching paint dry. Here's what I'm looking at:

Code:
Checked 5000, Completed... 2883648(last ID=[ 2883699 ] )
...
Checked 5000, Completed... 2888648(last ID=[ 2888699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2893648(last ID=[ 2893699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2898648(last ID=[ 2898699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2903648(last ID=[ 2903699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2908648(last ID=[ 2908699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2913648(last ID=[ 2913699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2918648(last ID=[ 2918699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2923648(last ID=[ 2923699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2928648(last ID=[ 2928699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2933648(last ID=[ 2933699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2938648(last ID=[ 2938699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2943648(last ID=[ 2943699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2948648(last ID=[ 2948699 ] )
Checked 5000, Completed... 2953648(last ID=[ 2953699 ] )
Yawn. The goodish news is that there are only 3117734 PMs so the end is near for this but at ~3 minutes a chunk it feels like forever. As soon as this process is finished I'll be able to export the database tables this script creates and import them into our production database and get the PM system back online with all content intact.

Were you storing the PM's as BLOB's?

If people had less PMs and deleted their redundant ones we wouldn't have 3.1m PMs to convert

I know how frustrated you are cthree, keep going and ignore the drama

Speed is the real big issue I reckon right now.

just to throw wood on the fire: anyone who cannot post up in their local section and keep the wheels turning on an event they have planned for MAY should probably hone their organizational skills a little...just saying.

LOL

This.

It's all my fault. I never should have wished cthree good luck with the upgrade. I should have said "Break a leg - or a website - or something".
