Bumping this back up. It came up at Monday's meet that it is time to pick a date and start planning the new years meet. Its only a month away at this point so we need to get the word out! If nobody steps up in the next week to do this, I guess I will make a post and get the ball rolling.

 

I would love to see some date choices to start 2012 off. I've got a pretty full calendar already, so I hope I can make it. Are there some choices in availability dates that you are thinking of?

 

We typically have some discussions on exact dates prior to the event. The idea calender I posted up will give you an idea of the time, but no I don't have exact dates yet. The only exact date I have for next year is the Fall Wake the Devil drive. That will happen Oct 5-7 2012.

May I suggest coping the calender from the first page and putting down dates that might work for you? For the most part I have a general date selected (month or months). Most of our events are not planned months in advance, unless they are overnight trips. Get the ball rolling with some real dates if you want

I have a very full schedule and I think I am taking on some more things next year, so my availability to plan events will not exist unless there is more activity and posting in the AZ section. I will only coordinate and organize events if there is enough participation in the community, and I am not seeing it right now. I just want to see more members posting and showing more interest in participating in events Hopefully we can get a new years meet planned, and once we are in 2012 things will pick back up.

 

do you have a running tally of how many people are coming to the weekly meets? I would assume something special would yeild slightly hire attendance than those combined but I just became an S2000 owner 4 months ago. I'll be going out more if I can peel myself away from car projects, my girl friend and MW3

Jan 7-8 2012 - Casino New Years Meet - Jeff & Jerry -- Bad for me. Pre-booked on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon
March - BBQ and Tech Day, location TBD -- OK for 3/3-3/4, 3/10, others if I'm back in time for evening events, could do 3/24
April - Prescott/Jerome/Sedona Day Trip - Adam & ??? -- Before Tax Day weekend probably won't be good, but Maybe 4/22 or 4/8
May/June - Wake The Devil 2012 - Adam -- Is a hotel booked? Sometimes a group can book as a family reunion for cheaper rates.
June 29- July 1st - Reserved for BC
Aug 17-19th - Reserved for BC
October 5th-7th - Fall Devil Run - Adam
November - BBQ and Tech Day, location TBD
November - Austin, TX Formula One Race - Fly or rent cars to attend

Mark thank you for adding some dates. We will take them into consideration and there is a good chance we will just use some of what you came up with.

I am going to try to get together with the CO's next year to start setting things up. I have also talked to some people and I know someone is working on some things to get T-shirts made for the AZ chapter, as well as shirts for each of our big drives/events. I personally would love to have shirts!

 

I would like to see if anyone would be interested in a gun range day? Either indoors (if during the summer) or an outdoor range. Not sure if anyone else would be interested.

 

As a result of some interaction with other local AZ clubs, the AZ del Sols, in particular, have included us in their 2012 event planning. Their event page links directly to this page, although if we have an "official" date and planning post, it should probably link there. Some of their event days coincide with ours, so if you can't make one, maybe you can make the other. Of course, I support our S2000 events, and would love to see cooperation between the groups.

One of the other groups, the Sahuaro Miata Club also has some 2012 events already planned. I'll list those soon.
