car broken into
I have a cover for the s2k that is brand new and never used. If you are able to obtain the salvage rights to your car, I wil be happy to give this to you to minimize the constant reminder of the car when you arrive back home each day.
Spent alot of time on the phone today trying to get this worked out, no luck yet. My position isn't about the value of the car itself (i'm willing to take what they offered), but about the value of the SC. They are stating the value of the SC at about $2k. I asked them to fax me a copy of their findings, and how they came up with the $2k value. As of this post I have yet to receive a fax, and according to the claims person......they talked to a SALESPERSON at Bell Honda.
Questions we asked:
1. Does the salesperson at Bell Honda sell supercharged cars on a regular basis.
Answer: We don't have that information
2. Does the salesperson sell superchargers, or somehow have knowledge as to their value?
Answer: We don't have that information
3. So you are basing your estimate off of what then?
Answer: Attempt to deflect Question
Going to hit the ground running again tommorrow morning. We've had our policy with State Farm for 26 years, guess that counts for nothing.

I have had a stereo stolen before too.
From the discussions I had, the official position of the insurance companies is if something is in place of where a stock item would go, they will cover it.
I can see an argument that the SC is added on.
Still sucks though.

I am surprised to hear about this BS from State Farm. Maybe you're dealing with a rogue agent out to make a bonus. I've been happy with them for many many years and through several claims. They've always been super nice and never questioned anything. Can't you just fax them a copy of you s/c receipt?
